The Scar Eater is a mythological figure who cleanses people's bodies of the scars they accrue throughout their lives. We emote the power of this figure through metal, hardcore, doom, sludge, thrash, and other forms of music that comes from the heart and soul.

THE BAND
Our musical sound is heavy, punchy, and melodic. Lyrically, our songs converge on dealing with the difficulties of life through the help of friends and community. The band began in 2014 with Sonny Sutherland on vocals, Stu de Haan and Gabe Garcia (previously from Gat Rot) on guitar, Gigi Owen on bass, and Chris Swanberg on drums. We recorded our first EP called Bring Us Your Damage in 2015. Shortly after, Gabe took a job in Alaska and we had to find another guitarist to fill his shoes, which was no easy feat (Gabe wears big shoes…). Enter Joel McFadden, who brought his signature guitar sounds and high energy to the band. We released our second EP, Never Not Broken, in August 2019 - now available on most music platforms. Our latest news involves the addition of Nat McCartney to the band on synth and keys. We are excited to share our new sounds with fans and friends.
